How To Prepare for End of Year Review

So the end of year review with my manager is coming up in a couple weeks. Looking for some advice on how I should handle the news of no raise and no promotion again this year?

Should I express my displeasure to my manager? Or should I hide it and pretend to be happy with the pittance of RSUs they have awarded me?

RSUs are largely a scam. 80% of the time you get cut before they vest. Receiving RSUs should scare you.

Your manager is getting the same treatment you are. My manager was dry promoted into his role; he received his previous IC pay only

Honestly there is nothing to really prepare for. It’s not like folks get compensated for what they actually deliver to customers.

The time for that was several weeks ago when you provided your self assessment and feedback. That was your opportunity to lobby for a raise or promotion, it is up to you to provide your manager the tools and information for them to fight for you.

Never assume your manger knows everything you've done and accomplished.

This actually isn’t the time for year end review. Sus that you have one now.

Complaining will get you nowhere. Not everyone gets RSUs or anything at all.

Tell your manager how he could be next, and help him anyway you can including giving your own job.

Keep your job and do not complain, more lay offs are coming
