This is hilarious. They are worried about getting sick, mo--ns. You are actually worried that you will need to work. Can't wait for Tuesday... All the incompetence will finally show. I also wonder how many RVs will be at the oversized parking hahahaha

I once had a manager that commuted in from Berkeley to RNB, all told, it took him about 1:40 each way (train and walk, etc). He did this because his apt in Berkeley was very small and he had children, so did not have a descent work space. Because his personal situation led him to come in, he wrapped it as goodness and was frequently prodding me to come in more, for the sake of coming in. The frustrating thing is, he would show up and do very little work, almost never closing even basic ARs on time, taking long lunches etc, as he espoused the goodness of being in RNB. I don't mind coming in, but want intentionality behind it, a purpose with clear outcomes, with a clear business result, whereas he liked to come in and just kinda hang out. This is the difference between being focused on activity (RTO obsession) vs results. Doing nothing caught up to him, he was let go, I am 2 Gd levels above where he peaked out for what its worth. If I get let go now, its fine, am close to the finish line. Sorry for those that are going to waste 4x a week going in if their job does not require it or their team is highly distributed across regions.

@bd

Too bad. I'm pi---d off over this and you can bet your last dollar that my in person attitude will reflect that.

I don't give a cr-p about burning bridges or whatever the he-l you are blathering on about. My work will kinda get done most of the time but that's it.

I'll also be sure that my attendance remains strong, even if I'm under the weather so I hope y'alls immune systems are up to the challenge.

If I'm feeling especially zesty, I won't bother to wash my hands after restroom visits, adding an extra layer of excitement to our shared times together.

Can't wait!

@OP
I've been out of Intel for a year now but still watch this board..
As an employee who actually went to the office even during the Pandemic I enjoyed going in while 95% of everyone else was WFH.. it was nice not hearing others do very little work around me.. I miss the Pandemic office environment..

@bd you're just jealous of people that genuinely want to spend more time with their family, with their pets, in their home. Technology allows us to work remotely and be even more productive. Here's a crazy idea, how about managers start doing their fu--ing Jobs and organize and assign goals, tasks, deliverables, and deadlines? Oh wait no, there is a meeting where I have to get su-ked by all my umpalumpas office enthusiasts

@bd see the comment about miserable people who want everyone to be miserable. You can ask for a better life my friend, except you are not my friend. Enjoy your office, bad coffee, bad breath, and smelly armpits.

WFH people are the epitome of self-absorbed, egotistical, whiny a--hats.
Last I checked, you work for the company, not the other way around. Don't like it, leave.

Am I thrilled about RTO, he-l no. But this constant temper tantrums from people because "this will interrupt my life" need to get a grip and realize this is why it is called a job.

But, for the love of all things holy, do not bring your whiny-a-s sh---y attitude back to the office and make everyone else as miserable as you are. This is how you burn bridges with your fellow employees or possible future hiring managers.

RTO enthusiasts = miserable people that want to inflict their misery on everyone. They do not want a better life or future, they want you to suffer more than they do, as that's the only way they know how to feel better about themselves. Coincidentally they often are the racists, bigots, lazy id--ts that nobody really wants to meet

In my experience, all lazy fu--s advocate for the office and shame others, but it's all projection. They are the ones who hang around, do nothing all day, chat in the cafeteria for hours, come interrupt you for random stuff, go to the gym, etc. Those who want to stay home are hard working self managing individuals that just need clear goals, deliverables and deadlines, and do not need daddy to watch over them 24/7. However, they get shamed by the lazy fu--s who hate their homes and their families and fundamentally are dedicated to lick boots and take merit for someone else's work. The shame is on you, RTO advocates

It's not a good idea to go back to an office full of racists, COVID, and dr-g addicts on happy pills who get mad when you bring up problems to fix.

@ab living an ultra sterile life prevents your immune system from being able to develop natural defenses. This could affect your long term health too. Moderation is usually a more reasonable approach but it is your life be as extreme as you wish.

A major problem in the world today is that people in general have lost the ability to communicate in person. People don't make eye contact any more. Social interaction isn't done by being connected to be people electronically. You are being manipulated online. People didn't act they way they do now before the advent of cell phones, the internet, and social media. Put your devices down and actual go out and talk to people in person. You will probably find that the people you think you hate are really not so bad. The other side of this is also that you might be the problem.

I don't like you either and I hope I'm not at the same campus you are at.

Maybe OP has point; I'm not too thrilled about some of my team members, so it'll have to be game faced in the office.

@OP You are an odd duck, and should require years of intense scrutiny of your r3ctum to correct the malfeasance that afflicts your ability to reason and exist. I wish you great harm.

RTO = Covid on the rise, more mutations, more people getting sick and could affect your long-term health. Always wear a mask (especially in a closed conference room). I do, even though people ask me if I'm sick. I say, no I'm not sick and don't want to get sick.

Respectfully, you sound like you are overthinking. RTO, by itself should not make one anxious. Please introspect or take help and figure out what actually is bothering you and address that. Good luck!
