Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

So many close calls

I’ve been looking for a new job for a while, and every time I get to the final interview, I get rejected. It’s mentally draining and discouraging. After so many close calls, it’s hard to stay motivated or maintain any sense of confidence. It's starting to feel like they're intentionally wasting my time. Or I'm just getting paranoid on top of everything else.

Take your time and continue applying to different companies. Depending on your age and experience, you might have more success with a smaller company. I am in my late 50's with 3 decades of experience, and took the VRP last year. I felt that I was facing age discrimination during final interview rounds. Three months after taking VRP, I found employment with a small company that values my knowledge and experience.

Word has spread that PepsiCo is a toxic workplace, with employees leaving and abandoning the sining ship. Many companies prefer to avoid hiring from organizations that carry such negative reputations and are known for poor work environments.

A lot of companies are taking their time on hiring. Economy isn’t great so volume and profits are down. Hang in there god has a plan for us all. One door closes another door opens
