It’s a no-brainer, really. I just hope cuts won’t be massive. Most of us need this job, no matter how little we like it or how underappreciated we feel.

The market in nz is so bad. I love the local site but globally fiserv no. But i need this job because nothing else is there.
Yes, most of us need a job, not necessarily this one. Given that, it's important to be prepared for anything. So many people are unhappy here and constantly worried about layoffs, yet don't even have an updated resume. They haven't upskilled, and probably haven't interviewed in years. So when they are let go, they are frantic and don't know where to start. While you have a job, carve out time to update your resume. Start looking at the types of jobs you'd go after to see if your skills fit. If you see skill gaps, sign up for certification courses to learn the things you lack that you see in job listings. This all puts you in a better position to find something if you do get laid off.
