I notice all groups get laid off except marketing . I am in the wrong group

I don't know about the LOB side of marketing, but the data side of marketing is in need of a housecleaning, and not just at the individual contributor level.
There is nothing to market when you are peddling a third-rate commodity product.

Ummm...Marketing got broken up between enterprise brand teams and lob marketing 4 years ago. And since then, they've had a few waves of layoffs. So, they have not been immune from any of it.
@ac you sound jealous.
If we have one marketing person, it's too many. The most expensive and overrated group. Although, communications is a close second.
Not that we don't need those groups, but we way overpay those people for the output.
well OP you must not know everyone in marketing bc there were layoffs this past week in one of the larger LOB marketing groups. and there have been layoffs in other marketing groups throughout the year.
Source: I work with marketing groups across the enterprise and have seen the ZZs and gotten the farewell emails the tuesday's after payday.
