Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

Hiring Trends

How have the hiring trends been at the firm lately or is there still lots of retirements and attrition ? So glad I took the lump sum at the end of 2021. Hope the pension gets funded and restricted lump sum is not on the horizon.

Thank goodness I took the lump sum. It only took 6 months to get the money and I lost money by the time it was received. I'm just glad I got it out in time.

The lump sum option is definitely going away. Get your money the he-l out of there while you still can. They’re already months behind in processing retirements, so if you want the lump and have not yet sent in your package, you’re already in danger of losing it. It’s a mess.

Take the lump sum now. Don’t wait. If you don’t need monthly income immediately, invest lump sum in a balanced fund. Get ahead of the next layoffs before any are announced. No sense in waiting to take your protected benefits.
