After 10 years of loyal Fiserv service I got laid off today. Kind of seen it coming. The position was phased out which means yet another reorg. Good luck folks. I am outa here woohoo

I wish you the best.
the columbus ohio office never receives layoffs
@ad It’s like they hate legacy knowledge.
EMEA lost at least one VP.
@dj Things created in early 2000s at this company look more coherent, organized, sophisticated and still easier to understand than they do today.
When technology by definition is supposed to get better and we learn from the past as a civilization... how is it even possible that a company steps this far back in such a short time?
@fd Already have
And the next week Indians will replace you
I'm am worried Fiserv can not be fixed as it is now. Cutting off parts for the sale incoming might be the only way to save Fiserv.
Beware!
What’s the count up till now?
@OP I was on this latest round of “we manage our success by cutting people,” Second Data terminations and they emphatically stated more than once that my situation was not performance related, which it couldn’t have been considering the well documented years of performance appraisals above expectations. My thought- although the talk track was “strategic reorg,” I am not in a location the newish leaders prefer and they stand to save a lot more dumping my job than any of the lesser paid mediocre folks who will undoubtedly fail due to lack of knowledge, support and experience. At some point they too will be let go… and I somewhat feel bad for Lyons. He’s a good guy but doesn’t likely have enough lipstick to continue to hide the pig Frank turned that company into. Truth is that there is only one thing you can count on at Second Data and that’s “forget about associates and clients” today- we book our money and will deal with tomorrow when it gets here.
Underperforming are who they say were targeted but that wasn’t the case in all circumstances. Some Just inherited a leader with control issues who’s about to see how fun it is to have to continuously polish the tu-ds that are legacy products with no documentation and are cobbled together by duct tape and bubble gum.To you Mr Steeler I hope you enjoy it because you just let the one person who was willing to put up with this bs for years go today. Your problem now buttercup
No specific groups. Underperforming management was targeted.
What groups were impacted?
@OP any idea on scope and location?
@a9 same here as well. Guess they are moving away from anyone that has legacy knowledge.
Today I was given my walking papers as well. Don’t know how to feel about it yet. Felt safe as a top performer year over year but boy I was so wrong. Thanks for the years of stress… and the severance lol.
My director got let go today as well. FTS.
@a4 she was, but she also was close to retirement age. I’m thinking they told our director/vp to let one go and went with the one they could retire early.
@a3 never is. Might have not been a yes man and they kept the one that is currently lol.
They let a manager from my team go today too, though not the one I thought it would be.
