Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Afraid of Confrontation??

Anybody else’s manager hides behind a screen to tell someone that they didn’t something wrong? My manager made an ‘appearance’ in our office last week since they work from home (but we have to go into the office) and they never said a word to me about a situation. The very next day they email me about it because they are afraid to say it to my face. Where did these wimps come from??

@16f If it is everyone’s job it is no one’s job. Do not do anything but the simple tasks that require no questions. Things have to fail and not get done so the manager gets found out.

My manager only communicates by email. She logs on at 9am and forwards all her emails to us with the same message: "Team, please handle." She doesn't even bother to assign things to a specific person, just blasts the entire team. If you reply with any questions, she'll respond with, "Please contact the originator of this email with your questions." At 5pm, she'll send out follow-up emails to the entire team with one word: "Status?" Any responses to THAT email, other than saying the issue is resolved, get "Take care of this ASAP."

Then it all starts over at 9am the next morning.

The only way you can talk to her directly is if you can catch her in a meeting. And even then, all you get is "Circle back with me after this meeting." And good luck with that.

The group leader in our department is a perfect example of this. She has a history of insighting conflict amongst the team and management. Over time this helped her get promotions and further her career. The current manager did not get promoted when there was a opening in the D-Suite and was passed over for someone outside of the bank. Our group leader is now su-king up to the new director as she knows that her manager is not capable of further promoting her career. Our department has really suffered because of this out of control cronyism.

@df Check out the "can you be happy thread". There's some of his minions in there.

Most of the managers I have encountered here and other places are keyboard warriors but when it comes face to face everything is roses and sunshine.

@d1 There's a district manager of IT that is the same. Illegal surveillance, stalking, hacking, smearing, staged events and that's just in the office.

Oh there is a managing director in audit like that. He tried to hide getting the persons people manager to do his dirty work to retaliate. He got found out by that person. Now he is acting scared. It is not funny but you have to laugh. A simple conversation would have cleared the whole misunderstanding but now it is so out of hand. The amount of people involved, money, and careers is unreal!
