Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Make sure you have plan B

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that relying fully on your employer is risky, especially with CVS. Keep that emergency fund topped up, build something of your own if you can, and always keep your options open. It’s rough out there when someone else gets to pull the plug on your livelihood.

@a9 Likely why bullying management occurs. Threatened by others competencies and talent, they do not lose their jobs. A lot of 25-35 year leaders in the category you mentioned and in a tough job market.

@dm
The H1B visa contractors for jobs came about 25 years ago in the US..the reason was to save on cost and benefits.

Southeast Asia was not wealthy then as it is now. Labor was brought hete as a cost savings initiative.

@a9 i dont know why ppl think H1B visa holders work or half the amount. Having Visa changes nothing in this world except the mind of person who thinks these ppl work for 20k.

The topic is good and completly agreeable that we need to have a plan b but everytime we take a turn pointing it to something else.

Karma. Everyone leveraged to the Hilt on big homes, fancy vacations, college degrees for their kids....

Why pay a person in their 50s 150k or more a year when you have college kids and h1b visas willing to work for half that?

Common sense. 6 months of savings, pay off debt. Don't buy anything expensive for 2 years unless you can pay cash.
Wait till the housing market collapses and credit scores tsnk...it will be a bloodbath.
