Smart Recruiters acquisition by SAP?

With the acquisition of Smart Recruiters officially announced by SAP on August 1.

How will it impact SAP’s existing HCM product portfolio namely Success Factors, Field Glass etc?

Would this acquisition complement or contradict existing HCM portfolio?

Would it lead to job losses in existing portfolio products to restructure and reorient?

Just what SAP product needs. Another technology into our already 3rd rate HCM solution.

Over 20+ cloud products make up our offering. Instead of strategically harmonizing the products to be used implemented faster and less expensive to run by the customers - the Walldorf brain trust devoted 18+ months to get SFSF of Oracle DB and even more time optimizing SFSF to run on Hana.

We took our eye off the ball and Workday ki-led us. Others are ahead and were try to buy customer lists.

As an SAP Program Manager using FieldGlass to manage 3P consultants, the complete absence of any integration between FG and core ERP was mind boggling and a manual maintenance nightmare. Synchronization via emails and MS Teams calls with hands on keyboards became the de facto standard.

The new HR AI will fire everyone and take over running itself.

The stock price will go up.

They will lose the most valuable people, as always.

See the restructuring of the management team after LM took over for an example.

It will lead to consolidation, and therefore job losses. As they remove individual SF, FG and SR roles and consolidate them into HCM roles.
