Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Acquisition

I was part of an Oracle acquisition of a small company. I was only there a year or so. So we got purchased by oracle. The id--ts in charge lied and a forged all the documents they suggested our partners signed. I only knew the people at my company a year and I was relatively in a low totem role. So we become oracle and I’m still I the unit. I guess we had about 2000-4000 people. As we got deeper into being “oracle”, the people in the company got worse. Especially the managers, directors and “presidents”.

Managers would just be toxic and arrogant. Stoking a culture of fear. They would pit each other against one another instead of a collaborative team. Directors. They would steal work, lie, sabotage careers by picking their favs to do projects based on race or s-x. They would usually be totally incompetent of any tech skills. In my particular unit, very few of the mgmt ever did the job of the people they managed. The presidents, well, useless. All just a figurehead. They were integral in approving raises and promotions. In my one situation, I had gotten a promotion and then was told there was no raise. This was after working for this horrible woman (total incompetent beat up Barbie), for 15 years. The guy whose team I was joining was an absolute wimp and coward. HR said “just be happy with the promotion”. I laughed at this person and said I can’t pay bills with that.

My old manager, the one who hired me for the first company, just total dummy and brown noser. He legit was clueless about anything in tech. Horrible mentor and just one of the biggest mistakes I ever made in my life trusting him. He’s still there doing nothing but being a secretary.

I say all this because I recently thought. Maybe this company that oracle bought just was filled with cr-ppy people and it has nothing to do with oracle. Granted they never got better.

Since that time I’ve come into contact with other folks at public companies that acted like this and they’ve been asked to resign or sued in court. I would never do that cause I’ve done pretty well since leaving O and these people are just gonna have no friends and worthless “keep up with the jones” lives. I actually never came in contact with cr-ppy oracle mothership people. So I’ve started to blame them much less than the animals that worked at the company I used to be with. Absolutely huge group of clowns.

Trust no one is right. OP here. The first guy that originally hired me. He doesn’t have enough skills to work at Walmart. Total trash.

thanks bro. I mean. yeah...with the understanding they're going to to lay off anything that overlaps, insert their own mgmt folks at some point, once acquired, they will acquire more in that same space and every new shiny acq will have their people who will probably leap frog the first group for no reason. anyone in the first company, think about growing? you wont. you will have the same pathetic role for decade+....take my word. the new people coming in dont have to be better than you. they just need a SVP like beat-up Barbie that I mentioned to be salivating at saying "oh, they're such great people..." cause she knew them all of 15 mins and had drinks. it was rinse and repeat at my old GBU. then as people who actually knew the products realized.....some will survive and some dont matter at all.....and then that shiny new toy....people getting let go, and then running for their lives. I mean. If you are like a cat on a hot tin roof...yes...Oracle acquiring you is great. All I am saying is don't trust anyone that is close to you during that process. Granted....the overall sc-mmy'ness of the people around me when I was there....were not homegrown Oracle...so kudos to Oracle. haha. These people became trash all on their own. most likely just come from trashy families.

Cool story bro. So you would recommend being acquired by Oracle, at the end of the day?
