Rif packages in the past have been 2 weeks pay for every year of service. Plus insurance at associate rate through the severance period after tax. Plus normally some sort of recruiting guidance or coaching.

@11b I think they updated the info to remove the 24 mos return period.

@11a If you take the ERP you are able to return after 24 months from the info on go/ERP site. I wonder how the non-compete is for.

They RIF info is probably posted in one of the policy docs on ASC. Need to compare that to the info and examples provided on go/ERP. Also, make sure you read through the contract that you will be signing if you accept the offer. The way I read it was that you can never return to Humana.

@eg Is the one week pay for every 2 years of service fact or a guess? Trying to compare ERP with the RIF and unemployment.

@116 I just posted a similar question, asking for info on the RIF package for this round. Really hard to make a decision without all the facts.

@110 I really wish someone would take the time to answer the questions about what a RIF package looks like. Everyone offered ERP and everyone worried about cuts is asking the same questions with no definitive answers.

@10x I didn't realize that you would lose benefits right away if you were part of a RIF. Is that true??? Makes the decision even easier.

people feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding is that if you take early retirement, you continue to get the same insurance benefits during the severance payout. However, if you are laid off, your option is cobra, which is extremely expensive and could really bite into your budget.

@g1 besides the 5k, what are the other differences the between ERP and RIF packages? Looking for information so I can figure out I need to do before the 11th. I've already read info on ERP site. Looks like 5k and 2wks pay for every yr of service and that's pretty much it.

CEO Jim R wrote to all associate email on Monday: "expanded efforts to contract out additional aspects of our shared service functions", what are these SHARED SERVICES to be contracted out?

With that extra $5,000 bonus, a lot of the seasoned associates are heading out the door. They walk away with tons of knowledge and experience—remnants of the original Humana culture, when people actually cared.

@m6 More cuts coming with reduced benefits for those who stay.

What do you think about the email sent this morning, Q2?

by

Post ID: @m6+1k18bc16t

@fw It should be in the subject of your email. It should say "Action needed: You are eligible for early retirement". So yes, if you see this, you're eligible.

@d8 No the package for RIFs are not the same. Less benefits than what is offered through ERP

@f6 you could still be fired in 2 months. It's a gamble

@ab I just got the email, also, so does that means I am eligible to take the early retirement?

@f6 I agree with you... I was comparing the things we know for certain. I just worry about those that don't take the early retirement will get rif'd and be out of that extra early retirement cash that they could really use in this job market.

@f5 I think the overall job market outlook does not favor an older person now given AI and many young graduates out of jobs. Something not so good could be better than none if you really need a paycheck. Got to weigh these. Everyone is different here.

@eg. And if u stay and get rif'd you lose the additional payout starting at 4 wks, 12 wks, etc depending on your role.

So it's really abt weighing the risk of not finding comparable employment after Humana against the extra $ you will get if u take early retirement. Right? Am I missing anything?

@d8 If RIFed, you should get a week for every two years, not including the $5000, but will be given three months to look for a job, after that, you may also qualify for state unemployment benefits. If you MUST have a job, no need to risk by leaving. This ERP is best for people who is planning to leave or retire.

I got the email yesterday for ERP. I’m deciding what steps to take, and I stay will I be laid off at a later date. Also, will the package be the same?

@cx it is reported by Louisville KY media outlets including The CJ. Humana just doesn't have the status as it used to here.

@bz I did not see anything on the news. It’s like local news doesn’t care or know what is going on. This is the 3rd ‘early retirement’ in less than 8 years and several rounds of layoffs that seem to not be in the news.

@ab if you got the email, you can access go/ERP and can get the package. Not only leaders.

@c9 It will not get much better in Humana in the near future. RIFs are written on the wall, and work will get harder. Medicare scrutiny is just starting. It is also a bad time to find another job. If you must have a job, hanging around longer may not be a bad idea as you get similar offers at a RIF. If work gets too much, keep looking for another job while you have a job. AI will be another threat to jobs.

I would say it is as good as you can hope for package… IF you think you can find another job. Tough out there right now

@ba This is 100% a result of poor leadership from Renee down. How has Renee stayed in place given what a crapshoot CW is?

@OP like all things pco...instead of leading with a clear email about what roles are eligible, change weary staff get a vague email clearly meaning rifs are coming, an even more vague mtg with "see the q and a" then a clearerish email after about which roles. Is sparing CIT now bc rifs are cheaper later than ERP? Made up metrics sure to follow.

@as what that tells you is the 1. Leaders are trying to figure out what is being said about them and 2. Low level leaders also have no idea whats happening

To the poster who previously posted about directors in CIT being terrible, it looks like the early retirement offer will target them with RIFs to follow.

I’m not a people leader but I do have access to go/erp. Does having access mean I should expect to receive the email?
