Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

need help to understand.

I met people in Fiserv, who are willing to work from different office locations (not from home). Some have been missing their families for years.

I heard a Stupid policy like, you need to be at the location of your manager.

What a cr-p!!

My manager is accepting I can work from different locations.

What is this stupid rule some one explain to me is this real rule? Anyone from HR department?

My manager and director both work in BH while I work in another state.

I’m the only direct report for my manager not in BH

Forced attrition. They want people to leave so they make up policies to force people out. Sometimes people comply with the policy and they have to layoff other people to hit the numbers.

This policy was in Bank Solutions. It might have been part of their plan to destroy specific banking cores.

If we follow the chain of command logically:

Me → My Manager → His Manager → His Manager → His Manager → CTO → CEO

Then technically, we should all be working in the same place.
But clearly, that’s not the case — I’m not in the same office as the CEO.

Conclusion: The idea that everyone in a reporting line works in the same location is a myth. Consider it officially debunked.

There is a horrible lack of thorough communication within the company. Rules are word of mouth. Some apply to teams where others do not. No consistency. Huge disconnect however now that FB is gone it seems to be getting slightly better. We'll see about that
