Just remember, you are working for a company that will replace you in 5 minutes, no matter how loyal, how many years in, how much you go above and beyond, you don't matter. Make sure to take care of yourself! As hours are cut, cut, cut, don't try to do everyones job-managers should be working 40hrs a week, only. You aren't paid or compensated for any more, so don't let them think you are capable do doing it all. The more we do, the more they will think staff isn't needed. Prove to them you can't do it all. We, as managers, suffer the consequences of coporate decisions-it is time the home offices suffers the consequences. You can't keep up the service, demands, and expectations of the schools and coporate, something has to give. I wonder if the schools know how stretched we are and unsupported. When was the last time your RM came and helped on an event day? Mine has never helped me.

Why is it that hourly associates can only take vacation if the manager can cover. That's right payroll is sh-t.
What about us that have a profitable store, or did, and the expectation has is was always to deliver? There is no way, on my payroll hours given, that we can live up to our potential. I will NOT work overtime, those days are far gone. When I see my RM put 90% of her focus into 1 store, promote managers that are her personal friends (less seniority, under performing stores) and give them a new title (time, ap support, etc) so they get more money, I am so done going above and beyond. The reason those managers got permitted is to take some of her work and they have time because their stores are empty.
Don’t stress necessarily about the performance of your store in the short run. The severity of the changes makes me believe failure IS the expected outcome. However, if you manage a small, low profit store, be prepared for the contract to be cancelled. That is the real goal.
