Thread regarding T. Rowe Price Group Inc. layoffs

Make decisions that are right for you

If you were just laid off, I know how overwhelming it feels right now, but take a breath and start moving one step at a time. I applied to over 100 jobs when it happened to me, and it took a while, but I ended up with multiple interviews and three solid offers. Tailor your resume with keywords from each job post, and try applying directly on company websites as well as sites like Indeed. I’d also recommend looking outside your usual industry. One of my offers came from a completely different field and I wouldn’t have considered it before.

If you can, take care of yourself during this time too. Even a short break to reset can help more than you think. I wish I’d taken more time off before jumping into the next role. This might feel like the end of something, but it can also be the start of something better. Stay focused, stay open, and make decisions that are right for you.

@OP Thank you. It was not my turn this time, but 2 posts that showed up this AM including this one are so inspiring. In some ways I am partly in the same boat as the departed as I am working hard on upskilling, taking training classes, and trying to perfect my new resume. I don't want to be there anymore. The culture that existed is gone forever. I really felt like the firm valued us before. This constant threat of layoffs at any minute and the prospect of being forced to train the person who could not get that job on their own is just such a downer. Seeing how you and the other post laid things out really improved my mindset in the moment.
