Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

CFO to be let go friday

finally, EH has come to his senses and realizing that this guy is not cutting it. There is no strong, competent leadership with MF. This is what happens when you follow the peter principle.

Welcome ES to take his place!

@fa

Is it true that NR is out or only a wish?

What the Accenture's think are high-level conversations, are just junior-level conversations, or they have seniors in the background rolling their eyes.

"And we have high level technical discussions every day."

"I’ve worked with Nike FTEs for long time"

As the OP of that comment, I concur. 90% of FTEs don't give a hoot either, but it's like 99% with the consultants.

At least with the FTEs, we get that 10% that cares and drives....but also we should get rid of those other FTEs too

"Some of us ship incredibly complex systems that are literally saving the company millions each month"

Yeah, like I haven't heard THAT one for 15 years. You just think you are. Held to the fire...not so much.

Consulting firms develop complex systems where simple systems would be sufficient. The problem here is creating simple systems ends the contract.

And it’s not like they have some deep talent pool they pull from. They’re simply an outsourcing of the hiring process.

Those consulting firms build and deliver many complex systems to many customers, I guess you are talking to wrong people from those companies.

Outsourcing GT to Accenture, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro will be always cheap and poor quality, they are too big to care about us. Stefanini was not that bad and could do better than before or bring in a new smaller player that has Nike in their top 5 clients.

@c4 I guess you’re just talking to the wrong people then. Some of us ship incredibly complex systems that are literally saving the company millions each month. And we have high level technical discussions every day.

I’ve worked with Nike FTEs for long time. None of them care or motivated to do anything and I've yet to meet one that can hold their technical weight in a conversation, let alone deploy something of value.

See…your words just different angle.

Might as well outsource shoe design while we're at it.

Oursource GT?

Having worked with those outsourcing firms before - you're just handing control and quality to people who don't care and aren't motivated enough to do things well.

I've worked hand-in-hand with the Accentures of the world, and I've yet to meet one that can hold their technical weight in a conversation, let alone deploy something of value.

Most of the time we're showing them how to do sh-t.
