I came here just to say this and then I am logging off... Learn from me. I had a cool manager who kept telling me that all is fine and that I should keep doing what I am doing, no problems, contribution, etc. Then I get "Meets" and all is fine and they she laid me off. So do not trust them and take care of yourself. Do not let them deceive and gaslight you. Good luck.

Agreed. Managers tell you that everything is right, then they turn around an give you a severanee package. I got mine, cleaned out my desk and turned in my laptop. When I walked out that door, I was releived and never looked back. No thanks for 35 years of service. Management just doesn't care. They will ship your job to India in a heartbeat to save a buck. That's fine, let the Indians do the work. When the bank falls flat on it's face, you can blame the Indians. ROFLMAOCGU !
Managers know. They fight for your ranking. Yes location, remote, skill set matter and location is a given. You could be outstanding and you will not be able to remain in a non hub or remote location. Medical accommodation is going to get a lot harder to retain.
LMAO, did someone get mad at my other comment.
Once again, you should be proud for being selected.
I know many top performers (aka over achievers) who were displaced, and yes, in go-forward hub locations. How you perform often has little to do with getting the golden ticket. Oh how I want the golden ticket this year. Please help me.
Your rating has little to do with being laid off or not. It’s a numbers game and your number came up.
There's a harsh reality here. Low performers usually get picked early for layoffs. However, steady performers and even strong contributors get hit by displacements too. This is especially true if location driven, due to technology/automation, or when an entire team or unit is cut. We shouldn't assume that people who lose their jobs are always poor performers. It can happen to any of us.
same. i was a top performer on my team and took on a good chunk of the work. was in a hub city but i am older. always had excellent reviews and was told i was doing a standup job. its all lies and gaslighting at WF.
Middle managers usually dont get told about layoffs until the very last minute
managers tend to be the 2nd to last to know with you being the last.
Sometimes your manager learns of a layoff the day before you do. That's how all of mine have been.
