Is smart lockout a mechanism to get rid of people?

Recently I changed my password and other people in my team have done the same thing, however; when we did so we were not able to access any application that's associated with the cloud that includes email and teams. I was told by the cloud support team that this is called a smart lockout feature and there is no way for an administrator to unlock them and in doing so the system kept me locked out of every Cloud app for over 8 hours I can do nothing but sit in my cube and twiddle my thumbs.

I was talking to other people in the office and they say this is a cloud technology being used by cyber security in collaboration with HR to purposely railroad workers to force them out of the company for not being able to work it's a technology they have the ability to turn off but they do not want to.

Does anyone know how cyber security is collaborating with human resources to use this Cloud technology called smart lockout to make people look like they're not working because they can't access anything? Is this technology being used to fire people?

They can shut down all the new cars also with a flip of a switch. This is the new normal.

That might be one of the biggest stretches of a conspiracy theory since the moon landing was called fake.

Question for the techie people - couldn't a user log out of their Microsoft work account in the cloud prior to the password reset and then wait an hour or so for the new password to replicate up to the Cloud before launching Teams or Outlook or SharePoint which would require a login at launch?

If you are not logged in, then you won't have failed login attempts which so your account would not be locked out, right?

It is a built-in Cloud technology from Microsoft that Wells Fargo enabled. It is not being used by lines of business in human resources to get rid of people. It is however a hindrance and a roadblock to people's productivity for the situation that you have described.

It is true that the cyber security group did enable this however what they didn't tell you is that you have the ability to also sign out of everywhere in the cloud thus lowering the potential of being locked out.

Keep in mind that cyber security's Cloud area is good at just putting things into production without actually creating playbooks or communications so when they operationalize this what they didn't tell everyone or give access to everyone is how to manage your own account in the cloud to prevent this mechanism from locking you out.
