Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

New Mexico and Texas disasters

We have had two recent major disasters both in Texas and in New Mexico, and the company is completely silent about this. We have become absolutely heartless greedy monsters.

Emails, social, website. HCSC did take the tragedies to heart. Check the internal comment boards like VIVE engage too. Communication went out with volunteer opportunities, and I signed up for clean up efforts once the area has been released for access. You can sign up too.

You can bad mouth HCSC for a lot of things, but not for lack of providing real help each and every time Texas has a disaster.

There was communication to all Texas employees, taking about what the plan is doing and also offering ways for employees to support the effort. Several messages also went to the same employees, offering free counseling or medical support if needed. Reminded employees and members of the Blue Bear Fund and other resources. I assume New Mexico employees have or will receive the same. This is a site about layoffs. But if you’re going to whine about what the company does or doesn’t do, ask around before you assume. SMH

First, what does any of that have to do with layoffs?

Second, who cares whether or not AI spews some platitudes about the tragedies? It makes no difference to the victims and their communities, about as effective as "thoughts and prayers".

I saw info on our Texas website and on social media soon after the flooding occurred. I suspect we have other ways to help members and employees outside of sending a memo. Your complaint discounts the work a lot of folks across this company are doing to help in real-time.
