@gy A large amount of concurs AI innovations came from those labs that got shutdown and almost no innovations came from India other than badly running existing code bases for less money. They where shut for cold hard cash and nothing else, the SAP board sees engineering as a cost center and drain on the business that can be better served by Gartner hype cycles propping up the existing ABAP junk from 40 years ago that the company got fat and bloated off.

The CFO and CLO are all useless, in my opinion, their chief skill being laying off people and relocating jobs to low cost countries.

@ga Tbh I don't blame India for landing good projects and investments. The development center managers in US and Europe are to blame for not being innovative and create projects to present to Christian and get the money and resources to execute it: the dev sites are in competition with each other...tell me in the last 5 years what are the new projects that started in US, Can or Europe (a part from Waldorf because this site is different)?

India presented projects in AI and got the money and resources first, the fact that their salaries are lower helped also.

US and Europe development site managers are so lazy waiting for Waldorf to feed them with new projects...something that will never happen...so they're left with maintenance only and we all know where this leads to...people out and sites closed.

@f4 If you're based in Europe, I advise you to sit and wait at least until the end of 2025 because it would be better to go with a cheque than with nothing considering that during this uncertainty time it might take longer to find a good opportunity...

Yes, I monitor this site because the tech sector is undergoing mass layoffs. SAP and Oracle as well as Microsoft are no exceptions.

I should be applying for other positions externally instead of waiting for the chop.

This site has provided some interesting insights - from CFO's comment about having "around 3000 jobs we can play with" to the Handelsblatt articles about Juergen, and they revealed that SAP would engage in GE/Jack Welch style stack ranking well over a year ago when they asked CK about it, and he did not deny it. So, this site has a useful purpose and I, for one, would like to see it focus on sharing information such as this. A little humor now and then is fine, but it would be nice to keep this forum for meaningful information sharing, even if at times if veers off into unsubstantiated rumors.

It is not just the large companies that p*ss off their employees. I work for a small partner company, and the mood is the same here. Sarcasm being our only outlet for our feelings.
