Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is Charlie prepping to serve his mentor?

Wells has quietly (-ish) shrunk it's workforce from ~270k to ~190k under his tenure, with more coming. That's a 30% trim.

Charlie got his start as a family friend of Jamie Dimon, CEO of Chase.

I have been wondering for the last couple years if Charlie is prepping for his mentor to take over WF, either hostile or "merger." It would not surprise me in the slightest.

JPM and WFC merging is one of those scenarios that if it ever happened you would have much, much bigger things to worry about than Charlie and/or Jamie. The economy would have to be turned upside down for the government to ever let those two merge.

Aside from that, one of the strangest things about this board is the obsession with Charlie Scharf. Stop letting him live rent free in your head.

It's much more likely that Shart was sent here to destroy WF and eliminate JPMs competition. The two companies can't merge, they are to large.

No, of course not.

And you should view your hypothesis never playing out as an opportunity to really evaluate your ability to understand the world, and what else you might be wrong about.
