The real fact is that we all know that on the management side and associate side the company wants to slim down !!!They will automate what they can. They will have the system along with Apps to do the basics like scheduling vacations ect. On the union side we don’t know much but can obviously see it’s been a blackout on info but definitely taking quite a long time to even assume it’s a cut and dry deal would be wrong !!Non union associates really don’t exist .They are just considered Management. So going forward I would say if your here good like stick it out but I would never suggest anyone start a career in any level of this company.I would say management and union are really is same boat here the corporation don’t care about either

@jj this is spot on …. Gte deal was 2 years to the day and you saw mass exit from execs every day multiple emails announcing . Riffs at lower levels are def coming . Big ones .
@140 Really ? What you think tech see and self installs are doing ? On top of that they are controlling the clocks to the point they’ve shunt the work substantially in pgh area. My garage shrunk from 26 to 12 since 2018 .
One thing that cannot be outsourced for now is an experienced, skilled pair of hands.
@ms you diminished your contribution at "choping".
This company doesn’t know how to automate anything. They will always be a phone company nothing innovated or ever will. They will keep choping headcount till the customers can’t take no more and leave, vz customer service is already ranked one of the worst
They are definitely looking for 'synergies' - read: reduced headcount. As anyone who's been through this knows there will be a lot of horse trading; ideally with the better bunch winning their respective battles. When the company was formed, GTE traded away Finance for HR, Exec Comp, and Legal. Operations went to NYNEX and BEL. MCI peeps did far better than expected.
Assume there will be some serious trimming and people currently signing golden handcuff contracts, which is a significant 'extra stick around bonus to ensure a smooth transition.' until the ink is dry.
The layoffs will not be quick as they need to combine both companies.
The executives are just managing a decline no inovation here just overpaid old farts with zero direction. The entire company is blah! So happy i dont use verizon wireless.
