“ Who do you think really runs this country?”

Central banking cartel for starters.

You fools… no one is taxing or otherwise penalizing corporations. Who do you think really runs this country?! Not Trump , not congress. They all answer to the lobbyists aka lawyers for companies just like att. And lest you forget , ever since “citizens united “ , corporations are “people too” lol. And don’t get me started on this Supreme Court. Sycophants. All of them.

Yes, companies have been using and gaining the system NOT with the intent it was created at all and nobody is auditing them.

It's like when McKinsey came up with the "great" (sarcasm) idea to make everything cheaper (and cr-ppy) in China... it dismantled the middle class.... and quite frankly, the entire world order and economy.... Now, it is the same, but with India and Information Workers. Different "animal", same principle.

100% they should go after these companies offshoring and inshoring. No govt contracts, no tax incentives and a tax per employee. Make it unprofitable. If they are truly better and the most skilled the company will pay for it. But we ALL know it’s just to save a buck and the quality is not there. Worked with offshore for 20 years now. Constantly having to fix issues.

"I have to deal with too many in our company that do not take the initiative to help our customers as well as partner internally to solve obstacles."

That type of culture starts at the top. Maybe if the employees of the company felt like the C-Suite and VP levels gave a sh!+ about the employees, then the employees would work harder to make the customer experience better. AT&T is reaping what they sow.

@ab when you have a lackadaisical workforce then it makes financial sense to offshore. I have to deal with too many in our company that do not take the initiative to help our customers as well as partner internally to solve obstacles.

US companies that offshore should be taxed higher than those that train employees locally. This is no different from buying local - Made In The USA!!

Trump should get rid of the malcontents that do not want to be here. Right size the company.

Sorry, auto-correct changed trouble for travel. I meant trouble, of course.

Yes.

A couple of points:

  1. The entire purpose of H1B visas or offshoring is that the jobs CANNOT be performed by Americans (due to qualifications and/or number of resources). Is this the case about AT&T? Is the manpower in the country available or can it be trained? Cost cutting was never the goal.
  2. Is the personnel working for this offshore companies better than American workers? Meaning, is AT&T saving money, but also getting great quality or just saving money and in the end the entire offshoring exercise is just a drain of resources putting the company in deep delivery / quality travel?

I worked with many people at these offshore companies and my experience has been very poor. Just my personal experience.

Agree? Disagree?
