Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

(Not tech) can anyone explain to me how Olympics resourcing works?

There is an Olympics in event every two years, which seems like it would be enough to staff some FTEs at least partially on it. But there is so much turn over for Olympics teams, and of course the turn over leads to inefficiencies and lost opportunities. Obviously there is something political here. Can anyone enlighten me. Why doesn’t it just sit in sports marketing?

What @e5+1jzb9bpcy said...in the past it was usually funded by Brand and Sports Marketing with the categories ( yeah, they're baaaaaack!) kicking in some head count.

There is an entire team dedicated to the Olympics for product , another for brand and another for pulling concepts together. It’s been the same people on those teams as long as I’ve been here so not sure what you mean about turnover
