Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What’s one small change that would make your workday better?

For me, it’s fewer overlapping meetings (looking at you, back-to-back Zoom marathons). Or maybe just a functional coffee machine in the break room. Tiny fixes can have outsized impacts on morale and productivity. If you could snap your fingers and solve one daily annoyance, what would it be? Bonus points for creative solutions!

Zoom vs ATT connect comment was about the product that won the market, not which one we use here. OMG. How myopic are you?

Not having to trudge to the office every day for no good reason.

It’s as simple as return to virtual work and end RTO

" It seems there’s a slew of folks who wear that as “badge of honor” of sorts. As if camping on calls all day makes them a “VIP”/MVP, etc."

100%. The mentality of "... look at how busy I am with all of these calls/ meetings I have to attend...".

When the reality is that 90% of the attendees bring nothing to said calls/ meetings, never unmute their mics, and contribute zero point zero.

And those calls are pointless. You do not need a Teams meeting to share information with the people that need the information. You simply send them the information. No need to bring 30 people together, 25 of whom don't know what you're talking about on a Teams meeting.

And for you 25 people...you're not "busy". You're adding no value and everyone knows it.

" Why did Zoom become the big winner from the pandemic and not our home grown AT&T Connect?"

Makes me wonder how many posters actually work here.

Neither Zoom nor ATT Connect are used.

Remote NVW or let us work in cities we were hired for. Exempt HUB strategy for exiting employees who were hired in their respective cities.

I'm not sure you meant to, but this raises a good point. Why did Zoom become the big winner from the pandemic and not our home grown AT&T Connect?

Competence in "leadership" is what I think you meant to say.

Nuke the NEWCs (never ending weekly calls) the primarily consist of someone reading a PowerPoint and “going around the room” instead of just send the file and asking for an update on teams. The hidden costs of these exercises are insane when you stop and think about it. Getting rid of PowerPoint or at least scaling it way back would also go a long way

Provide a seat to your employees or allow to reserve a seat, otherwise someone always in fear for termination under cobc hurts and impact daily life.
