Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

To the under 40 crowd. Don't like corporate America? Don't like our current politics? Then do something about it.

To the under 40 crowd. Don't like corporate America? Don't like our current politics? Then do something about it. Want to at least TRY to change the culture of corporate America? Want to actually at least TRY to change the political landscape of this country? Well the old guard ain't gonna help you. YOU have to. So do that. Get involved in the actual mechanics of the processes that allow you some real leverage. Complaining is a FNNG waste of time. Run for office. The next time Fiserv posts some announcement on FUEL...comment on it. Don't just sit back and be passive. Laugh all you want at this but it's all you got. So do something.

Unionising is the only answer.

People are finally realising this and coming onboard, it’s gathering pace pretty quickly here.
Can only speak for EU offices.

@cz and in the meantime the wealthy and powerful stack the deck more and more against you. They'll pay you less, take more money to give you less of the same products you bought yesterday, and force you to buy more things you got for free yesterday.

You don't stand up to this kind of corruption expecting to be the hero, you do it to try and make things better for yourself, your family, and others. And yes, there is a real possibility you won't be there to fully realize the success, and you almost certainly won't be the only one sacrificing to make the change.

That being said, every act of defiance potentually serves the cause of making things better. You don't have to fall on a sword. Maybe you just support others who are standing up to injustice. Maybe you defend them in a small way. You don't have to be THE hero, any opposition potentually still makes you one of the heros.

To anyone who yields this advice, please pause to examine history. The people who make the sacrifices typically suffer the most during the ordeal. They are usually only celebrated decades after the fruits of their labor have been realizd. First and foremost, no thyself and no your inner circle and what you and them can endure.

Otherwise, play the game like everyone else. Cut your expenses. Pay off your debts/liabilities. and plot your own pathway to financial independence.

This is America, capital trumps labor. There's nothing an individual can do much about it.

Complains are good. Why not? I hope everyone does so not just on the Fiserv board, so we know which company to avoid.

When you work for corporation they do own you/at least during work hours. All politics have to stay out of the office so beware how you speak up at work..
