Toooooo many M6s and M5s under head of controls. This whole layer can go with zero impact on controls. Will save the company millions of dollars too.

That will be the Last Phase of Layoffs: Enforcement of Spans 'n Layers. All those Directors and Executives with 0-1 direct report will be axed as orgs are "flattened" in the name of streamlining.

Chances are they will continue to trim the fat here. I work in 1LOD and got less than 1% at year end. The message was explicit - I didn't make enough controls go away. It doesn't matter about the risk profile, it's the bottom line on how many controls there are to test. Less controls equals less cost equals less US staff to employ. Ethics don't have a say in this.
