I'm an ETW and wasn't invited to this meeting. Were skilled developers/engineers really referred to as "warm bodies"?? That's utterly dehumanizing.
What a disaster of an answer. We know the reality of offshoring is to cut costs. Her answer was a big sc--w you to US based engineers. Good luck turning around the ship with that motivation speech.
It would have been so easy to say “we’re all one team. The ratio of FTE between global hubs has remained the same through these reorgs”.
But they can’t. They can’t even begin to try to lie because its trivial to call them out in the lie. They have broken the ratio so hard they want to avoid any discussion about their offshoring.
That’s why the lies are “It is GOOD that we are sending Portland into a tailspin. Indian labor is GOOD at their job. It is a GOOD way to easily hire (our friends & family).” MD spent the entire meeting gaslighting us
But as she said better quality and they are complaining about us not working their hours!
