Has anyone been able to switch to another role without being in your current position a year? Did it require manager & HR approval? I want to explore other roles under new management because my current environment is draining, not motivating at all, and quite frankly, I won’t excel on my current team due to my management experience but I haven’t been at the company a year yet. Any advice?

Yes, I did and it was a PITA. Went up to SVP's and I had already been at the company for a while in a previous position. Doubt you will be able to move in your first year unless your manager is trying to get rid of you.

I have seen both a person switching roles before 1yr and a person being denied that switch before a year. Depends how much ur current boss wants to let you go, how much your potential boss wants you, and office politics

I was promoted two pay grades before my one year, so I don’t see why you couldn’t get approval if you were excelling.
