If offered relocation but decline, is severance given?

One of my team agreed to relocate. That is a guaranteed year of pay and benefits, even if they do not move. Smart when considering the severance option would be less than 4 months of pay & benefits. Personally, I do not want to play that game. Get me on the fast track out of here with pay & benefits.
I was offered relocation and declined- got severance. It has been a blessing by God. I was very straight forward with my manager and asked about this too. Not sure if things have changed but that was my experience
Super commute is my new favorite phrase. Hopefully my children will remember my name.
You won't get severance...but considering you just got paid for 13 months or work, it's probably better than the vast majority of the severance the person would have got. Makes sense to accept relo and not go. Or even better, super commute and drag it out.
you will likely have 30 days to decide. if you choose relo you will have a year to relocate, if you chose not to relocate you will get severance. if you choose relo and decide not to or don't show up after the agreed upon date you will be fired and won't get severance.
Yes. The two things are mutually exclusive.
