Berkeley Heights Parking Long Term

This week exposes maybe a long term issue… what happens when we don’t have access to the spillover parking in the Park?

I mean at some point we won’t have any access to these other spots, and BH will be forced to have more remote days for people or trim the BH staff to be within the parking allocation.

You’d have to think the office space was designed for the parking, but then they started tearing down walls and throwing desks in scrum rooms to hire enough people for Franks tax credit.

Curious to see if this issue comes into play, as more tenants fill out buildings in the Park in Berkeley Heights

You can't make money on tax credits if you spend money making the building functional.

@f2 That's messed up, it's completely normal and healthy not to have zero parking spaces.

@f2

So it’s OK for the id--ts at Fiserv to flood their lots because they may not be used? The amount of cars hit, damaged and chaos this place has caused others is complete nonsense.

The messed up thing is that out neighboring buildings don't use half of their parking allocation...

@cc Imagine moving to Berkeley Heights from your previous WFH or small office arrangement, just to get moved to KC 2 years later. Those people's poor kids

@dm May they should not be id--ts and allow WFH on different days of the week depending on team.

For a mid-1980s building, with staff sitting in offices and not at movable tables, there was plenty of parking. Somehow leadership didn’t understand that you can tear down walls and have less space per employee but you can’t just double the amount of parking spaces. And that Nokia lot doesn’t look like it can handle all the overflow we just lost.

Maybe they really should consider alternating hybrid shifts since someone came up with a bad design

Way more people in BH than planned. Conference rooms have been converted to add more "butts in seats". Areas that were hallways and "collaboration hubs" were converted into cubicles, so no surprise there isn't enough parking. Don't blame facilities. They are minions. This is all on FB and his greed.

One of the few sitting in the office today. That’s what I get for not checking my email on the weekend!
