Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Things to do while you wait

Update your budget (don’t use one? Start! See: envelope method). Compile a timeline of your projects and accomplishments at the company while you still have access to systems that will jog your memory. Include STAR type structure - you want a clear story of impact to tell others. Exercise. Get re rooted in you, whatever that is that you do - you aren’t just your role in the company.

Don’t worry about work much this week. The company doesn’t know if it needs you (and if it really did, you’d already know) - once they decide, it’ll all be there for you to recommit to next week, if you’re not laid off.

Good luck. And remember, it really is luck - much more is dictated by chance over skill than we like to admit.

(What do others use this time for?)

Remember- this isn't about 'you' as a person. You hear it- and you can believe it- it takes time to digest- but there really is peace and mind outside of the berm. Take the time they provide you and get the well deserved mental break. Enjoy the summer. Connect with friends, neighbors, family.

Was laid off last year and this is solid advice. If there are annual reviews you’d like to keep, put them in a separate folder on Box and note the drive location. You can request this if you’re let go.

Absolutely do not transfer files externally. I can confirm as a former manager that I received an excel document with a list of every single document a former employee transferred before they left the company. I had to let HR and risk know which were company sensitive information.
