Thread regarding FactSet Research Systems Inc. layoffs

Liberation Day in Americas - Finally!

Thank you sincerely to HR and the CRO for listening to employees and doing the right thing for both the region and the company. This is a great step toward restoring the culture and performance we've missed over the past several years. You will soon notice how all the teams will come together as a united force in this region.

Unfortunately, the former head of Americas turned back on many friends and colleagues in order to align herself with the ex CRO and her agenda. Instead of bringing everyone together, she pushed for constant reorgs, power grabbing for teams and people, letting go of consultants, going after specialists and product teams, dismantling of DSO, premier and asset owner teams & leaders, going after ELT members and complaining about Ex CFO, and targeting redundancy only around male employees in the region.

Her approach prioritized personal advancement, aligning with the ex CRO based on the promise of being head of sales, over the interests of the region, our people, and the company.

It is time to empower and promote from that team those who can drive collaboration and guide the region forward. The current structure needs to be revisited as many functions lack clarity such of individual/team who did all the “not so nice” work and slides behind the scene. We should return to our core strengths and focus what we do best.

Let's promote individuals based on hard work and performance - not just to improve DEI stats on paper as titles do not define us, as we've clearly seen.

Heartfelt Thank you to the HRBP and the entire HR department for listening to employees with honestly and encouraging collaboration. It's time to look ahead and give our best with new leaders.

"Thank you" again for bringing trust back.

@15m each individual has two sides and I am glad you got to see the good side before being bounced out of FDS. Do not make comments when you have not been here to see what JB and HS, and their allies have done - mental strain & pain they have caused many employees. The head of Americas implementation did exactly what the former head of Americas told her minions to do. It was done with bad intentions and that person fell for it too.
Thanks for your feedback and emotional attachment to these great people but next time add something with substance.

Well known? What affair?

@15j yes - that situation is well known but notice how you kept it fairly anonymous & not easy for folks to decipher who was involved. You didn’t mention their role or their emotional characteristics… IMO that’s fine… but the other post made it easy to identify who it was in reference to. That is not ok.

Fair points. But things are often swept under rug even if known by hr ps and legal. Years ago there was an affair between senior exec and subordinate. Most knew. In end , subordinate forced to leave. Created hostle env for women but nobody to complain to. That’s how it works

@z8 Hi - I’ve been gone from FDS for a little bit so I’m not as up to date on everything, but calling something like that out online in a public forum is not ok. These people you’re talking about happen to be some of the nicest people I met during my tenure, love working at FactSet, & take their jobs very seriously. If you have a problem with HR policies or lack of enforcement, take it up with HR or your own legal counsel and bring a lawsuit if it impacts you that much.

Otherwise, keep things like this off this forum and use it for constructive purposes like advocating for change (i.e., JB/PS/HS etc…) or making folks aware of pending layoffs.

Amazing how HR didn't bat an eye at a husband and wife both reporting to the same manage (mediocre one at best) I guess it's the friends and family pass at that team in Americas. One family org chart, but double the family dinners.

Husband is a decent guy but just little allergic to change. Minor changes send him into emotional buffering mode and rants.

Wife holding it down with JB admin work and a bit of everything else kinda like Americas sales team Swiss Army kn--e and random chores like office Roomba but with a LinkedIn profile!

I’ve been long gone from FDS but it’s good to see that karma finally caught up with JB. I was let go after interviewing for a new role in that team. She had a couple of minions on that team who were protected by her. Famous implementation head was her right hand person for all the dirty work who threw everyone under the bus. Be careful who you share information with but good to see the right changes coming

Productivity up already by 50% in Americas Sales since catchups, 1-1, skip levels are all gone overnight. What a waste of time so much focusing internally.

Looking forward to seeing that LinkedIn post! This should be a wakeup call for some of the direct reports who hid behind that toxic agenda.

Exciting time ahead. Thanks to FDS leadership for doing the right thing. Thanks CRO for being a true leader.

No longer with firm. Something that should have been done couple of years back.

Disney?! Ha which character? Maleficent? Ursula? Hades? Lady Tremaine?

Sesame Street might be a better route
