Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Work from home caps disguised as care!

Nothing has changed here other than a backwards way of capping work from home! Have a sick kid?! Hopefully they aren’t sick more than 10 days a year and hopefully you are designed as high performing. The only thing they are getting rid of is spaiance and the only reason they are doing that is because it’s breaking all their cheap laptops and there’s no way they would actually invest in getting us actual good hardware. The idea that this being packed about care for employees is complete garbage. This is just a work from home cap!!!

It is a step in right direction. However, while the team i am on did not meet. There were teams that did and there were 3 different opinions on the memo. This is nothing new there is not one Fiserv and does not help one one group does one thing and another is opposite. I believe this is where Mr. Lyons needs to clarify and talk entire company and clarofy what it means. Maybe we get on one page that would be astep in right direction

@a2 The people from the intern program overall especially don't realize they are paid in exchange for work... And they are your future leaders of the industry.

@bk Sapience is not the same as a badge report.

@bk This is assuming you have a manager who possesses basic reading comprehension. I tried to explain this email MANY times to my manager, but no matter how hard I tried, they explicitly told me that I still need to log all time outside the office on Workday.

Ok, fair enough, leadership understand that they're losing too many valuable employees so they make some vague statement about more flexibility. But there needs to be some clear communication to management about the particulars of the changes here.

People are stupid, you have to take that into account.

Oh look, Fiserv bungled another major announcement. We might have a new CEO but we clearly have the same failed marketing team.

I too was hoping for a better announcement, but holy cr-p some of you people need to learn reading comprehension. There is no wfh cap, if you need to be out of the office longer than what a typical r&r approval would cover - IE 2 weeks for most teams, you can use part or all of your 10 days and be covered not badging into the office. If you need to leave work early for appointments or other personal commitments no problem now, let your manager know. As long as you don't abuse it as an every day thing or turn it into a pattern of behavior, you now have flexibility without worrying about being fired from a badge report.

Can someone please elaborate on what the e-mail was implying? I would really appreciate it! Does this mean Mike Lyons is more flexible than FB?

It’s not a cap. The note said more details were coming.

This is at least a step in the right direction. Positive communication-leadership is trying to work with us.

The way it was explained to us is the 2 weeks is if you want to travel in the US and work for up to 2 weeks of it remotely. Nothing to do with caps or misc wfh days

Perhaps you should reread the email or work on your cognitive skills

I really do believe that some people find something to complain about even in a good development. We are moving from a culture of being monitored non stop to more of an environment where you and your manager can find the right balance when needed.

You do remember that you are paid to work right?

How about being appreciative of the step change to a more positive culture?

This email was a waste of time. It said nothing but basically we limiting sapience and do exactly what your manager says. I will continue to look for a new hybrid role. Mike you had one job!
