Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Extending hours is a big mistake

Already short staffed stores now have extended hours. They now have fewer representatives per shift to cover the increase in hours. This will lead to longer wait times and poor customer experiences. It will be a complete circus once stores are flooded with calls offs and scheduled time off.

More hours equals more sales. Haha. What a miserable job. So glad I left.

People still go to cell phone stores? What a waste of time.

yeah extending the hours is so half brained. There ain't no way the few extra sales if any make up for the labor costs and potential safety issues. I suspect that they wanted to drive some people out of the business vs. doing layoffs as I know far to many people that want to leave after these changes or already did. I don't blame them either, if you have a family these hours are chopped. I get this is retail and all but it's phones, these places should have the same hours as a bank or the DMV. If extending the hours is the best idea they have to stay competitive then we are doomed.
