Thread regarding CVS layoffs

I despise my job

I feel sick to my stomach every single day before work. I've been looking, but no luck so far. At this point, I'm about ready to apply to flip burgers somewhere just to get away from this toxic place.

Honestly, RUN. CVS is a horrible company. I finally got out almost a year ago and it took time at first to recover but it has been the best thing I ever did. Not only did I get an increase in pay, but I got work/life balance, a non-toxic environment, leadership that can lead, doing the right things for the right reasons, relative stability, etc. it’s amazing. I hope you all find something else.

I was just going to post a similar question asking if it’s just as toxic everywhere else, or just my State. I’m on the retail side and it’s the worst I’ve seen during my long tenure!

Back office/Corp/IT even worse. Why do we stay? hopes that it will get better. The new people being brought in are worse than the people laid off.

I've been on the Aetna side for 7 years in Network and it is a nightmare. I want to quit every day; no support, inmates running the asylum, rampant nepotism you name it. I stay because I am getting paid. I do what I can, but in the end I am trading my time for money and that has to be enough otherwise you'll go nuts. Push your disgust down deep and disconnect. I used to agonize because of the wasted potential of this place, but it's a broken machine I cannot fix, so I let it go. I'm always one bad day away from leaving, but every day I don't only keeps me paid..

Reach out to people who have left. I would love to help some of my former teammates land a job.
To say I was underpaid is an understatement.
My former boss is one of those people who smiled at you while hiding the k ife behind their back.
Pathological liars...

Try the broker side. They looooove candidates that come from an insurance carrier.
