Thread regarding Omnissa layoffs

Kevin Norlin looking to avoid severances

Kevin Norlin created quotas that were based on 4-5 times sales reps comp plans, and nothing to do with the customers or territory revenue generation. This has caused many sales people to grow their territory by 300,400, 500% or more growth over the previous 2-3 years. He’s then going to put people on performance plans that can’t hit these outrageous quotas and fire them without extending severances.

Hi methodology that he’s been outspoken about is standards, clarity on those expectations and consequences. So that standard is grown your territory an exponential amount over night, if not you’re fired. This is the new culture at Omnissa

"Do your damn jobs and bring in new customers."

The current product capabilities and pricing options are not appealing to CIOs who were not prior VMware customers. Even those prior customers don't want to renew. Blame Microsoft for its aggressive sales tactics for the lack of revenue, not the sales teams.

The plan is to sell the company to someone else... and soon. Meanwhile whatever they can do to float or better yet make it look "profitable ".

What severance? There was no severance pay on the previous layoff. They only paid the 8 week warm notice. Only people with over 8 years got severance.

Factually wrong... at least in the US.
Other countries still have people on payroll that were supposed to be made redundant in mid-2024. But their crazy labour laws drag that out and cause companies to simply not hire there any longer

Stop being a B. Posting here and on Reddit isn't doing anything for you. The quota is what it is. You can either sit here and b like you're doing now or you can at least try.

The sales people on here are so whiney. Do your damn jobs and bring in new customers.

How many salespeople does Omnissa need as revenue continues to decline? Customers are not renewing, and the sales forecast is bleak in the current pipeline.
