Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

Another week filled with awkward goodbyes to competent colleagues

The pattern is obvious - anyone with marketable skills leaves as soon as they can. They keep hiring fresh grads to replace them at lower salaries, but surprise, the work still needs actual expertise. Maybe when quality complaints pile up enough they'll notice the brain drain.

I left a few months ago because of my manager's pressure on me, and demanded extra work. Mr. Ajit and his supervisor Mr. Shridhar constantly bullied me that I started spending less time with my family.

What is the typical bonus target for sr staff? Also, is JNPR paying 100%?

Couple things making this more prevalent now.

  1. The pending merger uncertainty (duh)
  2. Moving to an annual bonus plan

Every company I’ve been at with an annual bonus plan saw an exodus in the two months after the bonus was paid.

Honestly, end of the day it’s healthier to have some churn in a company. New faces bring new ideas. But there is a limit to this of course.

It’s worse when they let people go and don’t try to replace them. That’s horrible situation for everyone.
