Anyone think we need some big changes in that part of tech? What is that team even doing?
It seems disconnected, poorly run, and the contractors are scared all the time that they will get fired.

This is definitely an overall issue at Nike: too many director levels and many who are useless and keep everyone quiet to save their job and make themselves seem competent.

Haha more useless deflection from the obvious: cut the fat, bring in real workers.
Tell me what they do that justifies them being where they are? The real work is done a level below them, leadership comes from a level above them.
These comments about zombies are just deflecting the obvious point: many Directors in Nike Technical Services are bottlenecking improvements, playing office political games, and creating an atmosphere of fear for anyone who threatens them.
Are we afraid of calling this out? It is an overall budget improvement for us by cutting the fat and having focused workers, FTE and ETW alike, who work for the sake of improvement.

This isn't wrong though, compared to other areas in tech, it seems like whoever is managing this global enterprise technology services is a severe bottleneck. Seems like they are more focused on terrifying the ETWS and their own teams instead of collaborating and having a better service available.

Most of you wouldn’t have jobs if those in tech didn’t make it easier for you to do your jobs. Stop whining and make products that people want to buy. We’ve made the job simple for you, it’s time for you to grow up and be an adult for once in your life.
