Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Sunday Scaries!

I have the perpetual Sundays scaries, delayed by a day for the holiday but none-the-less still gut wrenching dread of going back to work tomorrow. I used to love my job at Humana, I was so proud to work here! This company has gone so far down over the past few years. It is a culture of fear, intimidation, and dread. No one truly feels safe. They sent out correspondence a few weeks ago about mental health and it felt like they were taunting us because all of us have been wrecked mentally by the brutality here!

@149 There is life after Humana even in this abysmal job market. There over a decade. Loved my job, was a top performer, then 2021 happened and the days of promotions and raises for excellent performance went out the window. Applied for over 60 jobs internally in a two year period, got a handful of interviews, but never an offer. Did not think I would be able to find something outside, but it was relatively painless. First job I applied for I was hired and got a significant bump and pay and bonus percentage. You just gotta keep at it.

I'm perusing this page after a google search trying to figure out if H plans to do a RIF any time soon. Finding it validates me while making me so very sad at the same time. Everyone I know is so burnt out and unhappy. This isn't the company I signed up to work for a decade ago. I think everyone would leave if there were opportunities elsewhere, but no one seems to be hiring at all right now. I have a masters in a typically highly sought after field and have applied for 14 jobs. Apps aren't even being viewed on indeed at all. This company has su-ked the life out of me consuming my time off the clock with worry amid constant threats of disciplinary action if you don't stay exactly within the lines. People who work here are in fear and no one feels truly safe.

I can totally relate because I felt this way every Sunday and have PTSD from my many years at Humana. It used to be such a wonderful company to work for but the last few years have been brutal with constant layoff, involuntary retirements and good leaders fleeing.

@e2 yes, this is a brutal place to work. I'm a veteran of the armed forces and I can take a lot but this place is beyond what anyone should have to go through to earn a paycheck.
