Our operational focus has shifted to automation and digital processes, reducing the need for manual oversight. Recent investments in data analytics platforms have automated much of the role’s analytical workload.the role significantly overlaps retail management roles already in place of stores making the ops supervisor retail role redundant and truly unnecessary. I don’t need someone calling me or telling me to take put a sign up or where to place a device or to update security binders when it’s already being done and we have vrms to communicate the message as well as directors of retail. Give the money back to the hardworking people of the retail stores as they are already struggling day to day .

Obsolete position
My Sr Ops Analysis is the most helpful person I have. You can have my “director” who doesn’t direct his energy to his job unless it’s to micromanage. My Sr Ops always has an answer when my director doesn’t know the first thing about doing my job or using job aids to help.
I agree a 1000%
DMs or “directors” aren’t able to manage the back end of the house because they’re too busy asking for updates every hour about HPUs or how many customers have you gotten involved with m or tracking manually missed vmp opportunities, oh wait…also make sure you get at least one Verizon home protect sale closed. Also 5 leads per rep per shift, oh ya call back those customers who haven’t activated their home internets yet……
They have always been the worse part of Verizon . You work so hard to only get harassed to do something that’s so granular and no emergency needed they create these issues and honestly they create a bad experience for the stores not just management but even the sales representatives don’t like them . Yes I’m in nyc . KW she’s my ops lady and she’s always been a nightmare to work with . Verizon wake up and do better by your front line employees in the retail stores .
We need to print this out and send snail mail to ALL Verizon Corp stores
Wow so many people agree with this post . Verizon are you listening here? I hope so wake up and stop this ops harassment of stores and management because that’s basically what it sums up to be . Power to the people .
Completely useless position I agree and I wonder what their salary is. how about we all write an anonymous email or send snail mails to all Verizon employees about this?
@hq+1jvyyaw52 you are extremely wrong. The ops people are just bored and try to justify their jobs. They know they barely have any legitimate work to do, therefore they harass management which is short staffed as is to make it look like they are actually working.
It's about time to consolidate and get rid of that position. DM's don't have much to do either so they can easily take over those responsibilities.
Being a former Sr Analyst in Retail Ops. Managers in stores should be doing their jobs so they don't need to be told to do their job. Many didn't listen & had major audit hits. Some that did ran a successful store. Others that complained didn't like it because they weren't doing their job & were useless to sales in the company. Demo phones not working. Place a mess. Those are the ones complaining. Useless managers.
No idea how they have ops people hitting us up about our view together performance or our VHI banner close rate. Like if they are doing that then why is the DM yapping in our ear all day long about numbers and performance. OPs should be a DM duty. There is a reason that ops is the most coveted job that people park in for years upon years.
Been saying this for the better part of 3 years. All of these things. As much as I do respect my operations person, I do find it super expendable. They rent cars 5 days a week to sit around the stores and do work that could be done 100% remotely. The retail director role should consume the oversight for operations, trickled down to the Senior Managers. I do believe this will happen and it’s only a matter of time before that position is sunsetted.
Ops should be a DM duty..like why does ops read off on performance metrics. Roll that money into rev generating rolls
My Ops lady is horrible and in NYC. Always stressing us out and giving us her own made up deadlines for no reason. We are already dealing with a lot and then there she come always complaining of talking about management behind their backs. She needs to go. She's in her role way too long we need someone new and fresh or we don't really need them at all honesty.
It's the clown job of Verizon
Ops thinks they are important
I’m in nyc and KW is a nightmare to work with . All she does is harass and harass you .
All they do is Harass you .
Totally agree .
