Most Favored Nation Dr-g Pricing - May 2025

If a dr-g company charges less for a dr-g in another country, the United States must now also get that lower dr-g price also.

"The United States has less than five percent of the world’s population and yet funds around three quarters of global pharmaceutical profits. This egregious imbalance is orchestrated through a purposeful scheme in which dr-g manufacturers deeply discount their products to access foreign markets, and subsidize that decrease through enormously high prices in the United States."

"Dr-g manufacturers agree to other countries’ demands for low prices, and simultaneously fight against the ability for public and private payers in the United States to negotiate the best prices for patients."

"Americans will no longer be forced to pay almost three times more for the exact same medicines, often made in the exact same factories."

"Americans must therefore have access to the most-favored-nation price for these products."

Do you really think these political "wh--es" that represent us in Washington, DC are going to sit idle and let all the kickbacks go away. No wonder we are in a mess. But take heart, someday there will be a reckoning.

It’s a nothingburger, as proven by wall street’s collective yawn after the announcement. The proposed remedies if manufacturers don’t lower prices are extremely vague and would likely be subject to lengthy legal challenges (MFN dr-g pricing was already shot down by courts in his 1st term) and the pharma industry is big enough to bleed out the budget. Most likely outcome is some manufacturers agree to lower some list prices (that everyone knows are inflated and almost no one actually pays) and offer less coupons, no real change for the overwhelming majority of consumers but Don and Fox News call it a big win and move on to the next shiny object.

$37 Trillion deficit. What don't people understand? Do we actually believe we can just print money. Stop the blame game. Liars can figure but figures don't lie. We cannot get out of this. Too late

This will definitely impact profits for pharmaceutical companies, pharmacy benefit managers, etc. negatively and may cause layoffs. It will positively impact companies offering benefits to employees and state/local governments/citizens/society due to lower dr-g prices.
