So who gets laid off…people invited to the town hall or those meeting with manager?

1:1. It's rarely done via town hall anymore (unless it's really bad). They've learned that people inadvertently forward meetings to unintended recipients, usually resulting in an epic sh*t show.
Axed.
Town hall usually doesnt get laid off, 1:1 are the folks on the rif list
Same for both. If it is a smaller team would be 1on1, if it's org wide then they would invite certain people in org and do mass layoffs that way.
Sometimes they will also include HR in the call.
