Did anyone get the notice that ATS employees in Bedminster now have to report to Middletown?

The writing is on the wall for Bedminster. It’s just a matter of time before they close it and move what’s left of the building population to Middletown. I think Bedminster is on year 3 of a 7 year lease. AT&T owns building A in Middletown, the one that is being renovated for a denser building population. They will make that decision and announcement in a heartbeat as soon as the renovations are done in Middletown.

No, but Jason Hamilton (deputy ciso) in CSO who has people in Bedminster recently had a town hall where he started out with how he's pretty much unqualifed for his job.
Then went into how he's now in Dallas living it up with his new golf career.

That pretty much says that if he's having too much fun, someone else will suffer at his expense because that's how they just go.

People in Middletown say they are still hammering away at trying to find more ways to squeeze more people into the building and still making up things like "executive kitchens that would make Martha Stewart proud". That doesn't bode well for Bedminster. Same thing happened to Redmond when that was a hub until they decided it really wasn't that inconvenient for the company to tell them to report to Bothell instead.

No such notice has been given to anyone in ATS Bedminster as far as I have heard. And usually if it happens – everyone hears about it.

Well folks have been saying the jig is up as they are still doing 3 days in Bedminster while MT has been doing 5 days since 3/1 and MT is where is all the construction is going on. They said Bedminster was still 3 days due to construction?? No construction going on in Bedminster so they must be speaking of MT location construction.

The train station is like a five minute walk from the office the exercise will do you good

The Northeast Coast train does not stop anywhere close to Bedminster when going North id--t as it is the East Coast line to NYC and Bedminster is West.

Take a hint! T wants to end the relationship and you are continuing to stay in an abusive relationship. Save your dignity.

“This is what happens when you taunt the company with New Jersey severance laws.
They “loopholed” you.”

About as brilliant a move as a toddler crapping their pants. AT&T is so desperate to squeeze out every employee, like a penny pincher trying to get out that last drop of tooth paste. Cheapskate turds. It’s not working, won’t work, and amusing to watch T squirm. What a bunch of amateurs acting like they’re a corporate stinktank of strategy. Nobody’s leaving without getting paid. period.

"There is a train station but it's a few miles away. Not convenient at all. No buses either. NJ does not have good public transportation."

“ This is what happens when you complain about the lack of space in the office”

NOPE. This is what happens when you taunt the company with New Jersey severance laws.

They “loopholed” you.

You don’t show up to your new reporting location you have abandoned your job.

No severance. Just termination.

It’s not the distance from your house!

It’s the distance between the old reporting location and the new reporting location.

READ THE POLICY!

“ Middletown is roughly 40 miles south of Bedminster.”

Let me math this for you real quick.

40 is less than 50. (40<50)

If the distance to your NEW reporting location is less than 50 miles there is no severance if you choose not to report to the NEW location.

Bedminster ATS employee here. I received no such notice. Not saying it’s not l true for some, just not for all.

FWIW - the Middletown museum is still there.

Here's the thing about them changing your work location to well over 50 miles one way from your residence.

Of course, they CAN do so. That's not a question.

But just understand that there is policy and there is precedent here. If they are changing your work location to one that's greater than 50 miles away, you should be able to refuse that work location change, same as if they told you your job was moving across the country. There is no difference. And you would be eligible for severance under the Managment Severance plan, same as anyone that refused that move across the country.

is it true that the "museum" in MT has been dismantled? They spent a boatload of money on that. Sad if true.

They can’t just change everyone’s reporting location on a whim. Middletown is roughly 40 miles south of Bedminster. My new commute would be well over 50 miles, does that mean I get severance if I don’t want to move?

They can. They do. They will. Already happened to me. My commute is over 50 miles one way. They don’t care. They want you gone.

There is no business need. The jury won’t be able to keep a straight face.

No. Who would the notice have come from? They can’t just change everyone’s reporting location on a whim. Middletown is roughly 40 miles south of Bedminster. My new commute would be well over 50 miles, does that mean I get severance if I don’t want to move?

Come on down. We just opened up a brand new area for CSO and made room for plenty more. Middletown will be your last stop in NJ.
