L2 was served today with a lawsuit. L2 wants to run this place like a sweatshop. These are the consequences. Union is absent, so members have to look for help elsewhere.

I don't think that's going to go well for you, especially if you haven't filed grievances first. Additionally, I think you're also supposed to file a complaint with NLB if union isn't 'doing its job.'
I suggest since you have issues with both your boss and the union you find a different job.
