Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Contracts Ratified

With this round of union contracts mostly complete it sounds like major layoffs are coming for nonbargained employees. Brutal.

“The c suite are basically untouchable but if asked to “retire” they have the golden parachute”

They deserve a lead parachute.

I would love to get severance pay for a layoff implemented by T because it would be the cheery in my Manhattan co-ktail! I'm so sick of this place and the mismanaged acquisitions that the AT&T image has been tarnished on Wall St. forever because of it!
This company has lost its way, has no direction, very poor leadership and waits for other companies to lead the way before climbing on board with any new ideas!

Layoffs has always been a thing in my 26+ years. Contracts aren’t a guarantee of forever employment but they do have articles and off payroll rules that have to be followed unlike the hunger game rules and policies for low to middle management. The c suite are basically untouchable but if asked to “retire” they have the golden parachute 🪂 to float away and not have to work again if they so chose.

Gloating sounds great until you realize that your contract won’t protect you, either. SE signed theirs last year and laid off for 2Q.

Where you been? Layoffs have been going on for years?

Brutal? You should be used to it by now.

Don't tease me. I've been waiting for my craft severance.
