Corwin and Donely made it clear - and cuts are already happening! VPs started to advise their teams this week to prepare to be layoff is definitely coming. Working in the corporate office at 466 Lexington; the nervousness of staff is visible from blocks away. Everyone is seen their teams shrink and they might be next.

this is just the first round of layoffs. if NYP can balance out their revenue, the layoff will be done by the memorial day. but if NYP still couldn't reach their goal, there will be a second round of layoffs until NYP meets their numbers. I understand that everyone is in stress. NYP should do is to look at the management and the VPs. they are the one who is making decisions and giving directions. we just follow their lead. if they don't change their strategy, NYP will have more layoff in the future. I believe there are 2 more lawsuits undergoing and awaiting for settlement in the future.
To the person who said the layoffs are disproportionately affecting black people, please take the race-baiting elsewhere, thank you very much. EVERYONE is stressed and anxious about this, and so far there has been little rhyme or reason to these cuts, so stop it with the oppression olympics. Sincerely, a fellow black NYP employee
Heart Center special event staff also was gutted today..(Columbia Campus)
Everyone is left in the dark about this situation it’s sickening. People who were considered essentials workers are now being let go with no further explanation. Are the lay offs over? How many more days do we continue to work with anxiety the fear of the unknown? Who’s next? We have so many questions yet no answers are being given. We just continue to tip toe around this situation and keep our fingers crossed we aren’t next.
Is it true that layoffs are being extended to July 4th?? I thought it would be done by the end of the month 😭 the anticipation and anxiety is terrible.
Apologies. Someone previously asked about social workers and I was responding that yes some social workers are being laid off, including 1 I can personally confirm in WBH.
These "layoffs" have been disproportionately targeted to black people, SHAME ON NYP!
We have sad news that two of our RN patients coordinator was let go yesterday. (They are not in the union) one worked for NYP for 15 years. Deeply sad by this new.
Layoff is hard for everyone. It doesn’t matter if you like the person or not. They all have families and bills to care for. Now is not the time to flood the forum with meaningless hatred. Pray for them to make through this because a lot of people will pray for you to not be in the same situations.
At the very least, managers should be having a team meeting or something to update departments. I haven’t heard a single thing from any of my managers.
For the people that get let go. Did you get your performance evaluation back ?
Corwin told VP's - layoffs will continue to the 4th of July.
No layoffs the week of Juneteenth to honor that sacred day, but they will resume the week after.
NYP Brooklyn Methodist, a medsurg overflow unit was closed last week. Managers let go. Staff RN given end of June as last day. They are offered to take severance package or apply for positions in another unit but its by “bump off” process. Meaning if you have more hospital service seniority you will bump off a nurse from that unit who has less seniority than you. Either way, some nurses will lose their job. Its barbaric.
From what I've seen they've been laying off clinicians as well as many much needed non management employees at 466 Lex. They are cutting revenue generating roles at 466 before cutting directors, VPs, and leadership roles. Leadership is extremely top heavy and they are the ones with the massive salaries. This is going to create more work for regular everyday employees and the clinicians, and I'm assuming even impact patient experience. They also were dishonest when they said there is a hiring freeze. There are departments still hiring for non critical roles.
Previous comment- confirmed what? Which dept? Please provide details.
Post from TheLayoff.com
Yes. 1 confirmed in my department, but I can imagine in others too.
Does anyone know when the last day of layoffs will be? I know they said by mdw, but lots of people are off Monday for the holiday. Do we think most of the cuts will be done by this Friday?
Do we Know if Kimberly Labay or Rhonda Bartlett getting the boot too? Both incompetent as well.
I have been in the facilities department for 15 years and I have never seen the morale this low for the workers and incompetence so high on the management side. The decisions that are made on a daily basis are utterly incomprehensible. There needs to be a change starting from the top down but I fear it may be too late as the lack of common sense runs wild throughout the department.

A prayer To everyone: Shield me from layoffs and job loss. Let my work be seen, valued, and secure.
Fill my heart with peace, not fear, and remind me that my future is in Your hands.
Open doors no one can shut, and shut doors that are not meant for me.
Help me trust that even in uncertainty, You are working all things for my good.
I release anxiety, and I receive Your peace.
I trust You with my career, my finances, and my next steps.
Cover me, guide me, and keep me strong.
As previous comments I have been having terrible anxiety and depression since I saw Corwins video but this weekend I came to terms with the situation. We should be proud of ourselves bc we make NYP the amazing place it is. I have met the most incredible people in almost the 2 decades that I have worked here. I am thankful for the memories , for the experience and the people I met along the way. And this disgusting situation will not break me down..there are other organizations that will be glad to have us.
The financial mismanagement is a scandal unto itself. A place receiving billions to produce cutting edge research and patient care has to lay off low level workers trying to get by in order to pay claims on patient abuse by physicians. Where is the reporting on this in the press? This is a non-taxed, mission-driven, human health organization. Not an investment bank, hedge fund or tech firm that we would expect such behavior to protect a bottom line or answer to shareholders. Like othere have said, the population are the shareholders because we pay the taxes that fund over 50% of the hospital's revenues.
Please only share information that is confirmed and factual — ideally coming directly from leadership or official communication. If you are in a director or upper management role, we ask that you provide clarity when possible.
There is a great deal of anxiety among staff right now. This layoff situation is deeply affecting not just financial stability but also the mental and emotional well-being of many employees. Clear and honest updates are appreciated during this difficult time.
The person that mentioned the revenue cycle will know by Friday , do you work remote or in office or in the hospital ?
There's something unnerving yet also soothing to see that I am not the only one who thinks that the way that this Enterprise and it's puppets handled this is mind-blowingly barbaric and incredibly out of touch..... Almost non-human. The top of the top predicted the trend incorrectly and had plenty of time to steer the organization away from this AND had previously done six years back. Uhhh Did they use Copilot for these layoffs?
Having leadership - Admin and Vice Directors lie to the over 100 faces via Zoom about what we already know and have all been easily about to factcheck, was truly disgusting - also where has Steve been for two weeks???? OR the hospital President?!!!! Hi, Hello? We are still here. We hope you are busy quietly packing up your things. WE are NYP, not you.
Revenue cycle from back end to front end will be affected. CBO to Coders to HIM to CDI. Some will come sooner than Friday.
Previous comment- Which area in Revenue cycle?
Told today in Revenue Cycle we will know by Friday.
God help us all
Anyone from Cornell laid off? If so what dept
Laid off, corporate management, 466 Lex.
Severance appears to be 2 weeks for every year of service.
The Social Workers at the ACN West got affected today. They had the joker administrator or director JC meeting with people to tell them the news. The Union 1199 got informed on Friday last week that 126 are to get laid off 65 from Presbyterian and others from Queens and Westchester. I saw a few people crying and with anxiety attacks today at AIM clinic. Just wondering when is my turn everyone is very quiet.
NYP has layoffs almost every single year. When will you employees smarten up and go work elsewhere, even for a little less? The trade-off is you aren't treated like garbage every year when Corwin needs to hit financial targets to get his bonus. Corwin is a phony piece of garbage and this organization is garbage while he's running it.
Anyone know if social workers have been affected at any location?
WBH = Westchester Behavioral Health.
What is WBH? remote workers in Finance?
I am part of ACN West and received my notification at 12:00 PM. I received the invitation at 8:30 AM. In the meeting, the division director and HR representative were present. I asked about the severance package; she said it probably included 30 days of COBRA insurance. The program manager, who is a joke, has not contacted any of us, especially after saying last week that we were staying. I am confused because over 30 patients are scheduled for counseling, and the providers were also laid off. We were told not to tell the patients or cancel any appointments. I am in shock because, after all the time we took verbal abuse and disrespect from the previous director, it came down to this.
WBH got hit this morning. Few employees from Finance were let either let go or transferred.
Additional layoffs happened this morning in corporate/466.
I swear this is the worse feeling of my life. Unsure of my future or not knowing of i’ll be able to feed my children next month or even pay my mortgage.
