Deep ETW Cuts

If you have not caught onto why your contract has not been renewed yet, don’t keep hoping that it’s the normal Nike incompetence. Expect massive reductions in ETWs at the end of fiscal year. We are talking thousands, not hundreds.

@a6 Maybe their families and mortgages are temporary too!

@a6 The T stands for temporary, which is what everyone employed at Nike is. I hope you don't find yourself looking for a job in this current market.

@OP the real incompetence was hiring so many unqualified people to do such sh---y work.

Don’t know about y’all but all my North American ETWs are being replaced by Indian contractors overseas. It’s a way to save 50% on personnel budgets while keeping headcount roughly similar.

The next 6 months are going to su-k for those of us being replaced and those of us forced to give a song & dance explaining lost productivity, missed deadlines and system instability.

Frontline support was replaced a few quarters ago and sr leadership is finally having to investigate fluffed sla metrics once it cost real money revenue instead of play dollars on next year’s budget.

We just need more Indians! Someone has to turn the Westside into a 3rd world area.

Funny you say this, I’ve heard just the opposite. Hiring freeze for FTEs, but hire / keep any ETWs to keep the business going.

I can confirm, ETW cuts are coming in force… they are making exceptions for some in critical roles

I expect millions, not thousands! And 80% of FTEs!

Since ETWs are on a different line item on the balance sheet I highly doubt that’s the type of overhead we are looking to reduce.

Says who? Many ETWs are covering for critical FTE roles who are out on medical / MAT leave or stretch assignments so if you’re a team extension, maybe, but these other roles I’d say are doubtful.

The way it should be when times get tough. You know what the “T” in ETW stands for, right?
