Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Rudderless Ship, No strategy, for like 10-15 years

Rack Up Debt, Buy Inflated Assets, Ki-l Balance Sheet, Pay Down Debt, Offload Assets at Heavy Losses......Claim Victory? That's Stephenson and Stankey in a Nut Shell.

“I am unhappy with my life and like to blame others for my current situation.”

Stankey is that you? Your company is collapsing under your lack of leadership and you blame the employees and gut them all by moving them around from city to city until they fall off. Such a dik

I know it's an unpopular opinion around here. The CWA made the ship rudderless. Couldn't retire the old lines and have to run new fiber because of them. While we buy a satellite company and proudly announce that e have launched the last one, Starlink sees the future and builds a network to rival our own. CWA blocked us from innovating. All in the name of protecting their pensions. We'll see how long the company survives to pay those pensions.

Apparently failing all the time is how you climb the ladder.

Stanley and Randall are two of the worst CEOs in history....we have a weak board that kept them in their jobs....they ruined a once proud and great company. I will never forget that after buying Time Warner Stanley said he was going to start watching more TV......you can't make this up....they both destroyed shareholder value...and disrupted many
Lives with their many layoffs since they don't know how to grow a business...

What actions did you propose to leadership the last 10-15 years?

We already know the answer.

Well most employees with half a brain said buying DTV on the cusp of massive predicted cord cutting was going to be a disaster. Most employees said their is no way ATT Management could run a media company and would poison that well with Time Warner.

Most employees think both Stankey and Stephenson are total lackey buffoons who Wall Street laughs at.

ATT Stock at this point is a borderline junk bond.

We should all aspire to fail as hard upwards as the Stankey Leg. Legendary.

Don't leave Ed Head out.
I was in the audience at the Center for Lunch when rounded up and he stated -
"We gotta get big". So what does he do? Goes out and buys Baby Bells with all of that
green copper serving LL phones with Class 5 digital switches. Then paying too much AND admitting such with the reasoning that he doesn't want to get into a bidding war And then complaining that the competition is using his pipes.
Now Ed got millions and raises every yr while we didn't get a raise for 20 yrs.
Ed's the bigger culprit as he bought useless assets for Billions while Randy and John merely bought $180M worth of assets and sold them for a loss.
SBC, nee AT&T has never had a great, nor good leader - i.e. CEO/President.
