Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford vehicles are outdated

Why is it that Ford don't redesign their vehicles to make them more attractive to the customers. Most of their vehicles still looks the same after 4 to 8 years. Why would I want to buy a new vehicle that looks the same as the one from 4 years ago and has no improvements whatsoever.

I recently checked out some SUVs for purchase and I was impressed with the quality of the vehicles made by Kia, Hyundai, Toyota. Ford & GM SUVs are outdated, expensive, low tech, inefficient, not attractive, not reliable, always have safety recalls and problems.

I am going with the Grand Highlander, Telluride, or the Palisade as my top 3 choices.

@cg+1jsd4rw10 My son bought a Focus RS because he knew Ford would never match anything like that again.

They can't build anything new under DF leadership all he wants to do is be a perfectionist narcissist who only knows how to complain. The silicon valley style leadership gave us nothing in 4 years except failed promises and gaslighting. First they laid off anyone that knew what they were doing but that got in their way, now there is a mass exodus happening virtually in every department with everyone else just looking at each other trying to figure out wtf is going on...

Gen2 Model e will have leadership in styling as well as in tech stack.

Be patient, it will be worth the wait.

The ford system is out of date and whoever has the willingness to make changes got kicked out by the out of date management.

You had "salaries" in your sentence. So you must be UAW union.

Ironic! Because Ford salaried employees are outdated too!

3 years ago, the plan was to replace most of the lineup with electrified versions as their model expires. Thus having a style and powertrain update at the same time. What happened was all the EV plans kept stalling and are now moving nowhere. Back to the drawing board while Ford style remains stagnant.

As for tech, don’t get me started on our obsession with building everything into new vehicles instead of just what people want. This mentality of the car is becoming a second home and workplace causes us to make expensive cars that break a lot.

It’s because BF and the BofD live in the past… the train station is a good example of this. There’s no visionary, just old white guys in blue suits still hung up on nostalgia of the 1960s Detroit. Just rehash and recycle the same cr-p over and over.

Exactly this! You can buy a Japanese or Korean brand that's loaded with new tech for a fraction of the price.
